Why Treat ?

Updated: Jan 10, 2021

Treat ? We treat our skin everyday don't we ? We moisturise reularly, isn't that enough. The answer is yes, but if you want to really elevate your skincare then you need to add a serum into your arsenal of treatment.

Serums are the secret weapon of skincare.

Designed specifically to work on the deeper layers of the skin to provide targetted treatment to an array of skincare concerns. A serum will deliver ingredients to exactly where they are needed.

Here is a selection of our favorites to show you just how much a serum can change your skin.

Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense £55.00

A must have for anyone who is seriously into skincare. This super soft hyaluronic serum helps your skin to kickstart it's own production of the naturally occuring acid. It grabs onto moisture and gives the skin amazing power to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.

Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules £69.50

Proof that serum can look quite different.

These tiny pink and green capsules are an absolute powerhouse of anti~oxidant protection. Used day and night over 1 month these capsules contain enough active ingredients to counteract the effects of every day pollution and give the skin luminosity and an incredible boost of energy. Think of them as a Spring Clean for the skin.

Medik8 Copper PCA Peptides £59.00

New to the scene, both copper and Peptides have gained a massive following due to the defence they provide against premature ageing. 40x stronger anti~oxidant powers than Vitamin C, this stable and superior blend of ingredients mimics the bodies own natural free radical defence system, stimulates collagen, supports elastin and collagen production and floods the skin with vitality.

Medik8 Clarity Peptides £40.00

Don't think that serums are only for anti~ageing. This super light serum is designed to minimise sebum in the skin and balance the skin bacteria that can cause acne. 10% Niacinamide calms and soothes the skin and Crystalide peptide adds light reflecyion and luminosity to the most uneven skin tones.

We've not included 2 very important serums in this list, the most important ! They have their own headlines over in the Medik8 blog. Vitamin C and Retinols are key in the protection and improvement of your skin.

Where do they go ?

It's so simple to add serums into your routine. A serum should always be the first thing to hit your clean skin.

  • Cleanse

  • Exfoliate once or twice a week

  • Water based serum eg. Hydr8 B5

  • Oil or cream based serum eg. Skin Bliss Capsules

  • Eye product

  • Moisturise

  • SPF
