How many of you have been going to the same hairdresser for years and have come away with a slight variation on the same style ?
What we doing today love? Same as usual ?

As professionals, the only way we can counter this is by a really good training and personal development plan.
I’ve been self employed for 6 years now and I’ve really tried my best to stay up to date with new products, treatments and techniques. It’s tough sometimes as training not only costs money but more importantly, time. To take 4 or 5 days out of a working week is stressful so I always make sure the treatments I’m learning will be well received and useful to my clients.
As a trainee Beauty Therapist we all learn roughly the same basics. Manicure, pedicure, waxing and the bare bones of facials and massage. It’s then up to the individuals to take those basics and improve and expand them. Each salon or spa I’ve worked in has used a different skincare range, and has different protocols on how they’d like treatments to be performed.
As time goes on I think I’ve made my own way to work, one that I’m comfortable and confident about. I know this can only be achieved by going through the motions of so many different theories and practices.

These these are just a few of the companies I’ve worked with over the years. Each with their own positives. Theres a few favourites in there that I’ll recommend as long as they’re available ! Having the ability to draw on this training and these skills mean that I can offer my clients a really comprehensive appointment. The knowledge I’ve accrued over the years through experience gives me the opportunity to guide my clients and hopefully you readers, through the choices available to you and the tips and tricks that can be employed day to day.
So please, feel free to ask away. I don’t know everything but I do know where to find it ❤️
