Your friends and family will not love you any more than they already do, just because you spent a fortune on them this Christmas. It’s never been about the money and it’s always been about the time.
There’s an awful lot of adverts out there recommending that you
Give the gift of Time
They are usually trying to sell you a holiday, a day in a spa, a lodge in the woods… But how about taking it a little more literally. Give you family and friends the gift of your time.
Make the time you give them special, make them feel loved and appreciated and be present. The best way to do that is to make sure you’re looking after yourself in the run up to Christmas.
You don’t need to throw money at it. It just requires what many of us would class as selfish. It means being kind to yourself, to sticking to routines that keep you organised and looking after your well-being. It means trusting your instincts and having faith in the love of your family.
The temptation to sacrifice your ‘normal’ life over Christmas can be overwhelming. All your usual way of life that’s been so carefully crafted to be able to stay sane, goes straight out of the window.
I have to do this, I have to get there, we have to be….
I see and hear changes in my clients personalities as they pile more stress on themselves. The best gifts, the best parties, the best food….
As a rule, the results are the same. The time you have left to spend with your nearest and dearest is marred by tiredness, resentment, worry and negativity.
I don’t want to preach to you and I’m definitely not judging how you choose to spend your Christmas. It’s a special time of year for a lot of people.
I do want to see you in the New Year with healthy and positive attitudes and fabulous stories of a loving Christmas. The little list below might help…
Spend your time, not your money
Live your life, it’s just one day
Eat well , exercise well and sleep well
Be kind to yourself
You are loved, unconditionally
Be organised but open minded
Enjoy every moment, find the humour and smile ( it makes people wonder what you’re up too)
And if you need me, I’m here ❤️
